Wollastonite is a naturally occurring calcium silicate that is formed from quartz and calcium carbonate at a temperature of about 450°C. The structure of the individual wollastonite particles is determined by the respective geological formation and by the processing technology selected. Depending on the application as a high-performance filler, we produce blocky particle shapes with a low length/diameter ratio (Low Aspect Ratio — TREMIN® 283 product series) and pronounced acicular wollastonite particles with a high length/diameter ratio (High Aspect Ratio— TREMIN® 939 product series). Application in plastics (resistance to impact, wearing), fluoroelastomers, e.g. for rotary shaft seals, coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, including water-based EP/PUR.
